Where Extrua Dispatch is weaker

  • Xero is the only accounting connection today. MYOB and QuickBooks are coming soon, so if you're on either, the others fit better right now.
  • No stock or inventory management and no vehicle GPS tracking. Ascora, AroFlo and Simpro cover those.
  • The trial needs a card up front (Jobber, Fergus and Ascora say theirs don't), and only your first user is free during it.
  • It's a younger product. The others have many more customers and longer track records; Dispatch's proof is the founder's own Sydney cleaning business, which runs on it every day.

Where it’s built to win: recurring work set once, a crew app that works with no signal, quote to job to invoice into Xero with nothing retyped, and the SWMS, JSA and licences suite on every plan. The full picture is on our field service management software page.

How to choose between them

Price your real team, not the headline: per-user apps cost more as you add people, job-volume apps cost more as you get busier, and plans with included users jump at the boundary. Check the accounting software you use connects today. Then run a real week on two of them: your regulars entered, one crew member on the phone app at a site with bad signal, one invoice through to your accounts. Our guide to choosing job scheduling software has the eight questions to ask.

FAQ

What is the best field service management software in Australia?

There isn't one best for everyone. On standing prices checked on 22 October 2026: ServiceM8 suits big crews (unlimited users, priced by job volume); Tradify, Fergus and Ascora suit trades wanting per-user pricing with MYOB or QuickBooks; Ascora, AroFlo and Simpro suit operations needing inventory, assets or vehicle tracking; Jobber suits businesses happy to pay in US dollars; Extrua Dispatch suits service businesses of every kind that want recurring work, an offline crew app and Australian-dollar pricing with Xero.

Which field service management software is cheapest in Australia?

It depends on team size and job volume. ServiceM8 has a free plan for one user and 30 jobs a month, and paid plans with unlimited users from A$29/mo, so it's cheap for a big crew doing few jobs. For per-user pricing, Ascora (from $45/user/mo on its Australian site) and Tradify (from A$48/user/mo ex GST) published the lowest entry prices of those checked. Always price your own team size.

Which ones work offline?

On their pricing pages, ServiceM8 (offline access on every plan), Ascora (offline mode for mobile) and Extrua Dispatch (offline crew app) say so. The others don't state it on their pricing pages; ask them before you buy if your crews work in basements or regional areas.

Is this comparison independent?

No: Extrua makes Dispatch, one of the products listed. That's why every fact about the other products is quoted from their own pricing pages, dated, with links, and why we list where Dispatch is weaker. Prices change; check the vendor's page before you decide.
